Interested in becoming more involved in the biology department? Beta Beta Beta (otherwise known as TriBeta) is a nationally recognized biology honor society dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research and outreach. Tau Iota is UNC’s chapter. Our mission is to enrich the experience of all students interested in Biology at UNC by connecting them with other students who love biology, providing them with opportunities for career exploration and professional development, engaging them in service, and helping them to get involved with the Biology department.
At our general body meetings, we have guest speakers from multiple disciplines of biology who share their work and experiences, including teaching faculty at UNC, graduate school admissions board members, and more! Throughout the semester, we host multiple service opportunities for members, various social events (including a formal this spring semester!!), and more. Additionally, graduating members in good standing with the society qualify for a TriBeta graduation cord.
