This is the SHAC Heel Life page specific to pharmacy students at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
SHAC Pharmacy not only offers pharmacy students opportunities to serve underserved patients through our various branches of SHAC Outreach, Clinic, Medication Assistance Program (MAP), Bridge to Care team (BTC), and Mental Health, but also to engage more deeply in these experiences through a service-learning course called PHCY 700. This pass/fail course is required for all students who wish to volunteer with SHAC Pharmacy programs. This course does not require any time in the classroom: the only requirements of the course include volunteering at least once per semester and filling out a brief pre- and post-IPE volunteering survey. PHCY 700 allows students the opportunities to reflect on their experiences of serving underserved patient populations and work towards personal and professional goals through their volunteering endeavors.
