Sources of Strength at Carolina

Active Event scheduled for 23 Sep 2026: A Little Note Goes a Long Way

Listed for 23 Sep 2026

Sources of Strength (SOS) at Carolina is a well-established student organization focused on strength-based approaches to mental health on UNC-CH campus. We partner with the School of Education to change the conversation around mental health using prevention science, positive psychology, and community outreach. The goal of the organization is to implement the Sources of Strength program (https://sourcesofstrength.org/) in the broader student body.

Members attend weekly events that have different themes of wellness: mental health, physical health, mentoring, etc. Students also have the opportunity to develop and implement their own wellness campaigns, projects, and events.

This club is aligned with the class EDUC 140, Sources of Strength, the first class at UNC completely dedicated to student mental health. You do not have to be enrolled in EDUC 140 to participate in the club. Students from all majors are encouraged to join!
