Refugee Support Center at Carolina

About Us

RSC at Carolina aims to provide support to our refugee population in the local area through community partnerships and student volunteer and fundraiser work. UNC students serve as direct tutors to local refugees for ESL and GED purposes, citizenship tests, SAT and ACT prep, and conversational skills. We strive to incorporate student ideas into community efforts as much as possible with projects including a children's library focused on representation at the Refugee Support Center in Carrboro, a local refugee cookbook initiative, tutor workshops, and social events. RSC at Carolina also partners with other campus organizations to fundraise for hygiene and educational supplies and lead education campaigns throughout the year about issues affecting refugees both locally and globally. We hope to educate and empower our club members in our shared mission of benefiting refugees to carry on within their respective fields in the future.
