Project Literacy is a student-led organization dedicated to breaking down barriers to literacy and creating pathways to learning success. We believe that literacy is not just about reading and writing—it's about empowering individuals to fully participate in society, and become lifelong learners.

Through our three core pillars:

Education: We provide monthly literacy lectures on a variety of topics relevant to the communities around us. In the past, we have hosted lecture on disability literacy, medical literacy, digital accessibility, deaf culture, philosophy, and more. We have partnered with a variety of organizations on campus including Disability Advocates Committee, ASL Club, Parr Center for Ethics among others.

Service: We partner with local organizations and partners like Orange Literacy and Book Harvest to extend our reach beyond campus. Our members contribute and work directly with individuals who face literacy challenges through tutoring or book drives.

Community: We foster a supportive community where learning is celebrated and growth is encouraged. Through programming and craft events, we build connections that make learning an engaging, collaborative experienc
