Physicians for Human Rights at UNC–Chapel Hill is the undergraduate chapter of the international nonprofit that mobilizes health professionals and students to protect and promote the right to health through science, advocacy, and action.
We bring together students from all disciplines from public health, medicine, global studies, and beyond to explore how evidence, ethics, and empathy can drive social change. Our members engage in advocacy campaigns, research and policy projects, and community partnerships that address issues such as refugee and immigrant health, carceral healthcare, gender-based violence, and global health inequities.
Through workshops, collaborations, and national conference opportunities, we train the next generation of advocates to translate compassion into impact. Whether you’re interested in medicine, public policy, or human rights, PHR at UNC offers a place to learn, act, and make a tangible difference.
