Japan Club at UNC-CH

The Japan Club at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill provides students with the chance to learn about and experience Japanese culture. We host events throughout the year to mark Japanese holidays and festivals and we also host events where we focus on a specific aspect of Japanese culture or life. We also focus on improving Japanese language ability and welcome any level speaker to join. The language portion of our club includes playing games to practice speaking, conversation practice, and tutoring.

In addition to those simply interested in Japanese culture and language, Japan Club provides a cultural exchange experience for international and exchange students from Japan. Japan Club provides opportunities to create ties with the Japanese community outside of UNC by bringing in speakers as well as encouraging participation and providing information about events that are Japan related.

Our mission is to allow students to experience a bit of Japanese culture from right here in Chapel Hill. Anyone who wants to practice Japanese language, wants to work in Japan in the future, or simply has an interest in the culture is encouraged to join!
