IEEE@UNC-CH is the official student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Our mission is to empower students to bridge the gap between theory and practice through hands-on learning, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

We bring together students from Computer Science, Applied Physical Sciences, Physics, Business, and related fields to design, build, and prototype real-world projects. Through workshops, build nights, competitions, and industry partnerships, IEEE@UNC-CH provides technical training, mentorship, and professional networking opportunities.

Affiliated with the Applied Physical Sciences Department and the Engineering & Research Lab @ Computer Science, our organization connects students to global IEEE resources and local opportunities in research, startups, and industry. Whether you’re coding, soldering, designing circuits, or developing ideas, IEEE@UNC-CH is where Tar Heels turn ideas into innovation.
