i5 Space at UNC-Chapel Hill

Interested in space, security, or global leadership? The Morehead Chapter of i5 Space connects UNC students to the future of space defense and international cooperation. While we work closely with AFROTC Det 590 and other ROTC units, our doors are open to all majors and all years —whether you’re studying physics, political science, PWAD, computer science, or anything in between.

As part of i5 Space National and the U.S. Space Force’s STARCOM network, our chapter is technically a pre-professional group for future military officers—but civilian students are equally encouraged to join and will benefit from mentorship, guest speakers, hands-on simulations, research opportunities, and leadership development. You’ll gain access to a national network of students, officers, and professionals shaping the future of the space domain. No prior experience or background knowledge on space security is required.
