Aaj Ka Dhamaka is Chapel Hill’s premier Bollywood Fusion and Bhangra competition , bringing together 13 teams from across the nation for a day of high-energy performances, celebrating community and culture. Each year, we welcome 400+ dancers and an audience of 1,300+ attendees, creating an electric atmosphere that showcases artistry and storytelling on a national stage.
Our event features a nationally recognized panel of eight judges, a professional DJ flown in from Michigan, and a dedicated media team from Dallas, Texas, ensuring a top-tier competitive and production experience. Behind the scenes, Aaj Ka Dhamaka is powered by a passionate and highly organized team, including a 3 directors, a 27-member board, 4 interns, 40 team liaisons, 2 EMTs, 3 emcees, 3 exhibition teams, and the generous support of numerous sponsors.
