Background on the Parent Organization: Tracy Davidian worked to establish the Helene Foundation in 2009 in honor of her mother-in-law, Helene, who lost her battle to cancer that same year. Helene was a nurse and mother who brought nothing but warmth and kindness into this world; as a result, the Helene Foundation strives to honor her legacy by providing immediate and life-changing care to mothers who need support in the trying times that cancer brings.
The foundation understands how instrumental a mother is to the safety and functionality of a family. As a result, the primary design of the foundation is targeted towards taking some of the burden off of mothers so that they can focus on recovering for themselves and their families. This approach allows aid to be targeted towards a specific family’s needs–whether that be tutoring, child care, or any other facet of family-centered aid. Ultimately, the goal is to serve as a flexible avenue of support to help reduce the needs of mothers and avoid them having to choose between providing for their children and getting themselves well.
