American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative

The American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (ALCSI) is a student-led organization dedicated to increasing awareness about lung cancer and improving access to early detection through education and community outreach. Our members work to connect eligible individuals in Chapel Hill and Carrboro to screening resources available through UNC Health and other nearby centers.

We collaborate with faculty, local healthcare providers, and the national ALCSI network to host events, tabling sessions, and advocacy campaigns that promote lung health, early screening, and public education. By bridging campus and community, our organization empowers students to apply what they learn in the classroom toward reducing preventable deaths and improving public health outcomes in North Carolina.
