Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) is a professional fraternity dedicated to helping students build their careers in the risk management, insurance, and actuarial sciences industries. The risk management and insurance (RMI) industry is an often overlooked niche in the business world and one that’s actively recruiting young professionals. With over 50% of RMI professionals set to retire in the next 15 years, there are hundreds of thousands of high-quality, high-paying internships and employment opportunities for students to take advantage of.
We're excited to launch a brand new, student-led GIS chapter at UNC Chapel Hill. Regardless of your major or year at Carolina, we hope that you'll join us in exploring this fascinating field!
Mission
Our mission is built upon four pillars: to inspire students to explore RMI, to cultivate industry-specific knowledge and leadership skills, to provide a forum for connection among peers, professionals, and professors, and to support students in securing internships and full-time employment.
