Friends of MSF at UNC-Chapel Hill

Doctors Without Borders, also known as Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), is an international service organization; Friends of MSF at UNC-Chapel Hill is a student chapter of this organization. MSF's core belief is that all people deserve equitable, accessible, and quality medical care. In creating a group where students can educate themselves on areas of conflict and suffering around the world (not just on the need for doctors), the audience can gain valuable insight from people in the field, who have experienced issues first hand, and who have dedicated their personal lives to making a difference. Furthermore, members will gain a better understanding of how medical and humanitarian organizations, such as MSF, operate. They will learn the depth of the impact that conflicts/war, political instability, natural disasters, etc. have on people. In addition, members will learn how they can be of service beyond the club by speaking with guest speakers from MSF and viewing videos made by MSF of their relief efforts, both previous and ongoing. Lastly, membership with FoMSF will inform the audience on how to support and help humanitarian organizations for many years to come. The goal of Doctors
