Eritrean and Ethiopian Student Association at UNC-CH

The Eritrean and Ethiopian Student Association (EESA) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a cultural organization dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and sharing the rich traditions, history, and values of Eritrean and Ethiopian heritage. EESA serves as a community for students of Eritrean and Ethiopian descent, as well as anyone interested in learning about the cultures, languages, and faith traditions of the Horn of Africa. Through cultural showcases, discussions, service initiatives, and social gatherings, EESA fosters unity, pride, and mutual understanding both within the African diaspora and the broader UNC community. The organization also aims to provide a space for identity exploration, intergenerational connection, and collaboration with other student groups, encouraging dialogue that uplifts African voices and promotes cultural appreciation, education, and solidarity.
