CompostMates at Carolina

Get involved with CompostMates at Carolina! Many individuals face barriers to composting. CompostMates breaks down those barriers through a free, twice monthly collection service for those without the time, space, transportation, and/or funds to donate food scraps or maintain their own compost.

For prospective members: Members are the ones who receive our food scrap collection service. Stay updated by following us on Instagram !

For prospective volunteers: You can sign up to volunteer as a driver! Drivers ride around and collect food scraps from our Mates. Please check out our Instagram for our most up-to-date sign-up links! Those interested in getting involved who do not have a vehicle can be on our Environmental Justice committee or join us for GBMs. The Environmental Justice committee hosts events and creates social media content that emphasizes advocacy, activism, and education surrounding environmental justice.
