Alpha Chi Sigma Professional Chemistry Fraternity

Dear Prospective Brother,

Welcome to Alpha Chi Sigma! UNC's chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma (AXS) was founded on May 6, 1912, and for 103 years the chapter has been dedicated to giving back to the community while using its vast chemistry knowledge as an advantage. In AXS, we pride ourselves on our service projects, such as hosting the Chemistry Merit Badge workshop for the Boy Scouts of America and entertaining the children in the Pediatric Playroom event at UNC Hospitals. In the past, we have partnered with the American Chemical Society in giving science demonstrations at the North Carolina State Fair, performed for the campus community during the NC Science Festival, volunteered at local Science Olympiad tournaments, and sponsored events at UNC's subset of DNA Day.

While we are very service oriented, we always find time to have social lives as well. The people you meet in this fraternity are some of the best people you will meet during your time at UNC. Livelong friendships are made in AXS and you will not believe the impact it will have on your life. AXS changed my life for the better and I have no doubt it will yours as well.
