Chapel Hill Animal Advocates United

We are Chapel Hill Animal Advocates United (CHAAU), a chapter of Collegiate Animal Advocates United (CAAU). Our mission is to create a welcoming, inclusive community of students interested in taking action to create a better world for animals. Students of all dietary journeys are welcome, and we support diverse forms of animal advocacy, such as leafletting, chalking, plant-based food giveaways, vegan outreach, and more.

Our goal is to connect with our student body, creating representation for animal rights. We often host trips to local animal sanctuaries, such as Jenna and Friends Animal Sanctuary (home of 24 pigs and 3 roosters) and the extensive Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge (which provide students with monthly trips with free transportation, food, and entrance).

We want our members to feel empowered to take initiative, encouraging students' ideas and leadership.
