The vision of Carolina Scientific is to produce a professional publication with the purpose of informing students of the latest news in scientific research at UNC-Chapel Hill. We publish one magazine per semester comprised of nearly 30 articles highlighting ongoing research at UNC-Chapel Hill. This research ranges in discipline from medicine and applied sciences to anthropology and sociology. Readers of our magazine have the opportunity to deepen their scientific interests or connect with potential projects and labs as undergraduate contributors. We believe scientific literacy is for all, and we hope to inspire innovation and creativity in the research community!

We are entirely undergraduate-run. We recruit staff writers, designers, and copy editors during the first two to three weeks of each semester to work on that semester's publication. We have interest meetings and workshops for each team. Staff writers will learn how to interview professors and write articles for a science writing magazine.
