About

Medical School for Kids at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill brings hands-on lessons about medicine and health to elementary and middle school students at local schools and educational programs in the Chapel Hill area. In partnership with MD for Kids, a physician-founded 501(c)(3) organization, we aim to improve children’s health literacy and show young students that they can pursue a future in healthcare. Our organization connects UNC students who want to serve with local children who benefit from early exposure to health and science, giving them an opportunity to explore multiple career paths.

Students from first-generation, rural, or under-resourced backgrounds and those with limited previous exposure to the medical field will have a chance to learn about healthcare, explore the option of pursuing a medical career, and ask UNC students about their journey and experiences. Students with previous exposure and interest can go further and understand specialties and organ systems.
