Smile Train at Carolina is dedicated to community service, raising funds for Smile Train, and increasing awareness of cleft lip and palate care around the world. As a student organization affiliated with the world’s largest cleft-focused organization, our goal is to support Smile Train’s mission of providing children with access to free, life-changing cleft surgery by training local medical professionals in underserved communities to perform these specialized procedures.
Through fundraising initiatives, community service, and educational events, we hope to make a meaningful impact both locally and globally. We also aim to expose students to unique surgical procedures and career opportunities by inviting oral surgeons and other medical professionals to speak about their experiences in cleft care and reconstructive surgery. By combining service, education, and fundraising, Smile Train at Carolina strives to inspire future healthcare professionals while helping improve access to essential surgical care for children worldwide.
