Public Affairs and Civic Engagement at Carolina

About

PACE is a nonpartisan, pre-professional student organization at UNC-Chapel Hill dedicated to connecting students with opportunities in law, government, public policy, and public service. Our mission is to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice by making these fields more accessible to undergraduate students from all academic backgrounds.

Through guest speaker events, panel discussions, professional networking, government agency and legislative office visits, and interactive workshops, PACE provides students with opportunities to engage directly with public officials, attorneys, policymakers, and other professionals. Members gain insight into career pathways, develop practical skills, and build meaningful professional connections.

PACE also offers optional student-led policy research opportunities for members interested in exploring public issues and developing research and analytical skills. By combining professional development, experiential learning, and civic engagement, PACE aims to prepare students for meaningful careers and leadership in public affairs while fostering an informed, inclusive, and engaged campus community.
