The Lab Shadowing Program at UNC-CH(LSP) is a student-led organization at UNC-Chapel Hill dedicated to making undergraduate research more accessible through short-term laboratory shadowing experiences. Our mission is to bridge the gap between students' interest in research and their understanding of what academic research entails.
Through partnerships with faculty, research laboratories, and academic departments, LSP connects undergraduate students with opportunities to observe laboratory environments, explore different research disciplines, and interact directly with researchers.
LSP particularly aims to support first- and second-year students and those with limited or no prior research experience. By emphasizing exploration rather than placement, we aim to help students discover their research interests, make informed academic and professional decisions, and gain the confidence to pursue future research opportunities.
