Yarn Docs at UNC SOM for medical students will teach beginner crochet and knitting skills and allow advanced members a social space to work on their personal fiber arts projects. The club will revolve around three important values: education, wellness, and service.
Advanced fiber artists will have opportunities to develop leadership skills through teaching crochet/knitting techniques. Members will learn how to knit or crochet simple to advanced projects throughout the year.
Yarn Docs will promote wellness through a stress-relieving activity and development of new artistic skills. Social events will be scheduled to allow members to work on their craft and make new friends.
The club will promote service to the community via donation of fiber arts projects such as hats, scarves, etc. to those in need.
