Senior Smiles is a UNC-Chapel Hill student organization focused on promoting oral health awareness and social connection among older adults. We partner with senior communities to provide engaging, non-clinical activities such as Oral Health Bingo, Myth or Fact, Dental Jeopardy, and “Guess Whose Smile Is It?” These activities give UNC students the opportunity to connect with older adults, learn more about the unique oral health needs of aging populations, and contribute to their local community.
Our goal is to make oral health education fun, approachable, and meaningful while creating opportunities for conversation, companionship, and connection. Senior Smiles is a non-clinical organization and does not provide dental examinations, diagnoses, treatment, or individualized medical or dental advice. Our activities are designed to complement, rather than replace, the care and programming already provided by senior communities.
