The purpose of the Women's Health Multidisciplinary Consortium (WHMC) is to create a multidisciplinary community with a vested interest in advancing the health of women and create opportunities to train the next generation.

The WHMC hosts monthly "Hot Topic" seminars, a 1-hour program curated by the WHMC Planning Committee in close collaboration with the Center for Women's Health Research and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, with an audience of basic science and clinical faculty, clinical and research fellows, graduate and medical students, and undergraduates. Our goals of the seminars are to build awareness of the broad array of research in the UNC community that intersects with improving women's health and to provide a conducive environment for forming new collaborations and trainee training.

Our Inaugural Trainee Cohort, initiated in January 2023, involves meeting monthly for the Hot Topic Seminar, and attendance at a monthly Trainee Journal Club, for a total time commitment of 3 hours per month.
