UNC-Chapel Hill’s delegation of the North Carolina Student Legislature (NCSL) provides students with hands-on experience in public policy, legislative drafting, debate, and state government. As part of the nation’s oldest active student legislature, founded in 1937, members represent UNC alongside students from colleges and universities across North Carolina. Delegates research issues, write and debate legislation, practice parliamentary procedure, and participate in statewide legislative sessions while developing skills in leadership, public speaking, and civic engagement.
