The UNC-CH Media Law Society is an organization designed to provide the students, faculty, and staff of UNC School of Law a chance to meet, learn more about media law, and hear about employment and internship opportunities within the field. The club is designed primarily as a way for law students to expand their awareness and knowledge of media law.

Because UNC Law attracts an array of students with varying interests, the UNC-CH Media Law Society will provide opportunities for all students. These opportunities will include learning about media law in the context of newspapers, broadcast television and radio, and the Internet.

The UNC-CH Media Law Society will provide another way in which students can learn more about the law, but that is not in the rigorous classroom setting. In keeping with that philosophy, the club will not demand a certain commitment from its members. Instead, the club will hopefully attract students who are interested in learning about media law and keep the students’ interest through the club’s events and opportunities.
