UNC Chapter of NOBCChE

The main focus of the UNC Chapter of NOBCChE is to increase and maintain diversity in STEM and STEM research at UNC. The UNC Chapter’s emphasis will be on creating a scientific community for undergraduate and graduate students, concentrating on professional development and getting people involved in research and presenting their research locally and around the country at research conferences.

The UNC Chapter will hold local meetings with chapter members. These meetings will include, but are not limited to:

General body meetings to discuss important chapter business and bi-yearly elections

Talks by invited seminar speakers from the local community and around the country

Networking sessions

Tutoring for introductory chemistry classes, specifically CHEM 101 and 102

Outreach to minority elementary and middle school students to expose students to STEM

Fundraising activities to help cover the cost of attending and presenting research at conferences
