The Student-Athlete Pre-Health Alliance at UNC-CH

Varsity sports consume a significant portion of athletes’ college experience and prevent many students from using the resources and opportunities that pre-health students must take advantage of. Because of this, student-athletes are often deterred from the pursuit of careers that require years of investment beforehand such as those in healthcare. By increasing the ease of access to necessary resources and a supportive community, we hope to ensure that more student-athletes find a pre-health career of the right fit and have the ability to pursue it. The Student-Athlete Pre-Health Alliance (SAPHA) will thus create a space that promotes opportunity, unity, and excellence.
