The Quarterdeck Society is an integral part of the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This program is dedicated to developing future leaders of the United States Navy and Marine Corps through a combination of academic study, physical training, and leadership development. Midshipmen participate in a weekly leadership lab every Thursday afternoon. Here, they receive instruction on naval operations and leadership principles. The Quarterdeck Society places a strong emphasis on mentorship and professional development, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and service. Upon graduation, Midshipmen commission as officers in either the United States Navy or the United States Marine Corps.
